Cumann Rince Náisiúnta will celebrate its 30th Anniversary in 2012 and is proud to launch the CRN World Open Championships ‘Craobhaca Oscailte na Cruinne’.

The very 1st World Open Championships will take place over the Irish June Bank holiday weekend 1-3 June 2012 in the very prestigious world-renowned Wexford Opera House.

Directions to venue:

N11 Southbound: Take exit number 7 for Bray. Continue straight through the roundabout passing Topaz garage on your left on to Killarney Road. Continue on Killarney road until you reach the 2nd set of traffic lights at the Church. At the traffic lights take a right on to the boghall road and take 2nd right into Ballywaltrim Community Centre.

 

N11 Northbound: Take exit number 7 for bray. Take 3rd exit on roundabout and go over the bridge. Continue on to next roundabout and take a sharp left on to Killarney road passing Topaz garage on left. Continue on Killarney road until you reach the 2nd set of traffic lights at the Church. At the traffic lights take a right on to the Boghall road and take 2nd right into Ballywaltrim Community Centre.

Cumann Rince Náisiúnta

Celebrating 30 years

In 2012 Cumann Rince Náisiúnta will celebrate its 30th anniversary and in doing so, will launch the C.R.N. Worlds ‘Craobhacha Oscailte na Cruinne’.

C.R.N. are very proud to announce that its very first worlds will take place over the June bank holiday weekend in the very prestigious world renowned Wexford Opera House.     

 

Founded in 1982 by the late great Ita Cadwell, along with 11 other teachers, C.R.N. has expanded throughout Ireland and is now quite a force to be reckoned with throughout the World, with teachers/adjudicators based in countries such as the UK, Holland, Belgium, Australia, the U.S.A. and China.

Since its formation, C.R.N. has encouraged an open platform for all dancers and provides an organisation that gives a voice to young teachers but most importantly, it provides a stage where every dancer can perform in a competitive but friendly environment.

‘Craobhacha Oscailte na Cruinne’ will be launched in January with qualifying rounds held worldwide. Over the past couple of years C.R.N. has moved its ‘Irish Open’ base to the magnificent Citywest Hotel Conference Centre and has expanded its calendar of events to include the “USA Open Championships”. Behind the scenes a very hard working executive committee aided by an Irish open and Worlds committee will ensure that the roll out of “Craobhacha Oscailte na Cruinne" will be a smooth one, as C.R.N. spreads its wings across the world. Thirty years ago Ita Cadwell had a vision of an organisation that would grow worldwide, an organisation that would promote an open platform to all dancers in the hope that this organisation, while encouraging the choreography of new work, would still maintain our traditions.
